The North Texas Corporate Recycling Association awarded two scholarships April 20, 2018 at EarthX as part of its expanding effort to increase recycling awareness, waste diversion, and resource stewardship.
As a part of its commitment to the growth of the environmental and recycling business community in North Texas, NTCRA has developed a scholarship for graduating high school seniors and enrolled college students looking to study or currently working towards a degree in Environmental Sustainability or other related major of course work.
“We’re very proud to award these two extraordinary students with scholarships to support their education just as we are thankful to our members and NTCRA supporters for making it possible,” said NTCRA 2018 President Ms. Cheryl Brock.
Applicants submit a narrative essay addressing why they believe they would be a good candidate to receive a scholarship from the NTCRA and how their degree will benefit the North Dallas Community. Selected winners will each receive a $500 donation towards tuition at their chosen college.
This year’s winners are Ismael Diaby, working towards a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree at Dallas Baptist University, and Morgan Smith, beginning coursework this fall at Southern Methodist University.
Congratulations to you both! We look forward to seeing you at the gReen3 Awards this fall!
Do you know a student that could benefit from a scholarship from the NTCRA, be sure to check out the scholarship under the Membership/Membership Benefits tab at the top of the NTCRA webpage.
